The astrological imprint of this summer season emphasizes the balancing act between [a] home and family matters with [b] daily responsibilities and worldly ambitions. We may be highly emotional with a liability of moodiness and with people throwing tantrums if things just don’t go their way.

The Summer Season begins on the 21st of June at the Summer Solstice as the Sun exits Gemini to enter Cancer and signals the time of the greatest daylight in the northern latitudes.

The Sun moving into Cancer creates a Stellium in the Cardinal Water Sign as the Sun joins Mercury and Mars in Cancer. The Cancer-transiting planets oppose the Capricorn-transiting planets of Saturn and Pluto. Both the Cancer-transiting planets and the Capricorn-transiting planets connect positively to Neptune and offer us the opportunity of drawing upon our intuitive sense with the recognition that we do not have to make things hard for ourselves.

We may have been conditioned into believing that we alone have to make things happen, but such a belief is an old mindset associated with an old paradigm of sequential reality. Let’s keep in mind and hold in faith the reality of the paradigm shift occurring whereby we are moving from linear, sequential reality of beginning, middle and end into the asequential reality where things occur in a most unexpected, even random, manner. We are entering a world of what may appear to be a world of magic with mini-miracles happening on a frequent basis.

We do NOT have to do it all, but we do need to be open to the wonder of the all.

Much of our summer season can be spent both in taking care of business in expedited ways and in taking time to reflect, re-create and reinvigorate.

No need for summertime blues, so long as we understand the ups and downs of cyclical living.

A sense of ‘enough is never enough’ and that ‘more is better not matter how much more’ can be evident as the two ‘good guys’ of the Zodiac, Venus and Jupiter, oppose each other on the 23rd of June. We may desire to take off out of our familiar routine with a special someone, willingly to engage flights of fancy. We may be feeling upbeat and inspired and generous even to a fault. We do have to be wary of excess, especially in light of the fact that ‘what we see might not be what we get’.

The Venus Jupiter opposition on the 23rd gives greater emphasis to the Mutable Sign T-Square that has gone on since the end of March, with but a brief reprieve in mid-May. Our anxiety might be heightened, and certainly we are liable to fall prey to our blind faith or a belief that things will work out in the end according to our desires. Things do work out in the end but not always in synch with our prescribed desires.

The Venus Jupiter opposition on the 23rd is followed on the 24th with Venus square Neptune. Any tendency to give people the benefit of the doubt based upon our generosity of spirit can have dire consequences. Our infatuations could lead us astray as we let go of our critical analysis for an assumption of the goodness in each and every human being.

Even if taken advantage of by someone, we might be less forgiving and more focused on our own personal interests as Mercury exits Cancer on the 26th to enter Leo. The Cancer Stellium ends. Our thoughts are less empathetic and compassionate for our fellow beings with our focus turning attention to our own personal interests and creative outlets for ourselves.

Attention to re-creational pursuits may also have us acknowledging the need to make certain changes more resonant with who we are and where we are rather than who we have been or where we have been. Mercury’s entrance into Leo is followed on the 27th with the Sun sextile Uranus.

We may seek to draw upon the warmth of the summer sun to light up our own expressions and highlight the venues in which we can creatively express ourselves.

July begins with a thrust of energy as we look to engage the fun and games of summertime.

Although the month of July starts with us on the dark side of the Moon prior to the New Moon on the 2nd, Mars exits Cancer to enter Leo on the 1st and may ignite a fire in our belly. Certainly, we are likely to be considering a broad realm of options for ourselves — places to go, people to see, and recreational activities to take part in.

With both Mercury and Mars in Leo in the early July period we can be feeling our oats and slough off some of the high anxiety emotions we might have been experiencing.

We are more interested in putting our mark upon our world, to enjoy life and not to feel victim to the vagaries of these disruptive times. Perhaps we are coming to realize, even appreciate, that the wild swings and extreme changes going on in the world-at-large can also serve as a dynamic in our personal lives with us able to make major transformations, releasing the outmoded and exploring the unfamiliar.

As the Chinese proverb, some would call a curse, states: ‘May you live in interesting times’.

And we do. These are interesting times and exciting times, times when things can change dramatically and suddenly with not even a heads-up.

The 2nd of July give us the Cancer New Moon in the 2nd Decanate of Cancer [Scorpio influence] and a Solar Eclipse. Just as New Moons trigger new beginnings, this New Moon offers us unexpected opportunities both in regard to times with family and friends and to exploring our own creative self-expressions. The one caveat to this signature is the importance of our embracing our being co-creators with the universe and open to things occurring in a most unanticipated manner. It is essential that we not get in our own way, which we could do by falling back into the old mindset of our having to make things happen. It is also important that we not get mired in old stuff that prevents us from receiving surprising and wonderful bounty. We may see indications of the magic and mini-miracles of this paradigm shift into asequential reality if we avoid narcissistic tendencies and our need to control situations. This period can be a highly pleasant time with fun events, an increase in our vitality, and a greater attitude of gratitude.

Venus exits Gemini on the 3rd of July to enter Cancer. Our home and family may be foremost on our mind. This Sign change occurs a day before Independence Day in the US, a day that celebrates our country’s independence from the yoke of colonial rule, but also a day that reflects our own individual independence of times when we have gone through major transitions in our life.

We can draw upon the comfort and nurture of our home, our family, and our friends.

The second of this year’s three Mercury retrogrades begins on July 7th as Mercury retraces its early transit of Leo and then backs into the third decanate of Cancer with its Pisces sub-influence. This Mercury retrograde ends on July 31st, but its ‘shadow’ lingers on until August 14th when Mercury returns to the degree in Leo at which Mercury had turned retrograde.

The 8th of July has Venus sextile Uranus, and Mercury conjunct Mars. To add some splash to our lives, we might decide to change up our environment, moving things around, adding touches to our space. Our communications can be dramatic, but we have to be wary not to be over-the-top in our discussions or to prove our point. Interesting encounters might occur, and it would be wise for us to tone down our first impression. We might be a little much for some people. This is a time for receptive listening and not merely pontificating. Collaboration now can be more effective than going it alone.

If we don’t take things down a notch or two in early July, we could get tripped up by our desires to fast forward, all the while that we are assuming that everything will work out neatly in our favor. While there can be some fascinating situations and unexpected opportunities to come our way, let’s not forget our obligations and responsibilities. We could easily burn ourselves out chasing butterflies of possibilities but unable to attend to what needs to be done.

The 9th of July can reinforce past situations still unresolved, and responsibilities yet to be addressed. The push pull between matters demanding our attention and new terrain to explore could prove exhausting, and we might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails as the Sun opposes Saturn.

With July a month of summertime merriment, we can feel disconnected from our day-in, day-out reality by the images of wondrous possibilities, prospects, and summer gatherings.

Much of July has a push – pull quality to it, and there could be times when we feel we are on a metronome swinging back and forth between our mundane affairs and joyous experiences. Even if we try to balance the two, the motion may be more like a metronome with wild swings back and forth before finding the mean and the equilibrium.

This sense of the reality – unreality of July might be accentuated around the 11th with the Sun trine Neptune and Mars square Uranus. Our feelings can be heightened, our foresight and intuition strong, and we could decide to go full bore ahead to realize our plans. We may feel the wind to our back, recognize that our intentions are solid and well-considered, but the force of our efforts might be a little too much. We have to be cautious that we’re not trying to force things. We might go blithely about, head in the clouds, negate the conditions and circumstance and wind up accident-prone. It would be wise to avoid knee jerk reactions or acting solely on impulse. We can either be willing to ‘go with the flow’ or we could be pushing the envelope with a liability of a severe pushback.

The mid-July period can be one when we have to avoid losing our cool. Like a volcano, we may need steam vents to release some of our pent-up energy. Taking a day off, going for a day trip, or some other irregular activity could help us let off steam. Without some kind of release from our normal involvements, we could be explosive and confrontational, looking for problems rather than seeking solutions. A liability to being hypercritical can strain our relationships. The negativity that has been so evident in society over the past few years where everything seems so wrong, nothing seeming right, might be ratcheted up severalfold, especially around the Capricorn Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, on the 16th.

From mid-May through mid-August we have one or more planets transiting Cancer to opposed the Capricorn-transiting planets of Saturn and Pluto. Like an animal backed into a corner, people can feel threatened and then act with intense reactions. Fearful, people could trigger a ‘fight or flight’ response, either being confrontational and argumentative or withdrawing into their personal safe space. Such sentiments could play out, triggered by the Capricorn Full Moon on the 16th.

Issues that have been seething under the surface may boil up. Releases from old self-defeating patterns could be a positive outlet, but we do have to check our reactions to be certain that we don’t become explosive and do more damage to ourselves than benefit. Let’s keep in mind that often our viewpoint about matters is just our subjective opinion — how we see things from our perspective rather than the true reality of the situation.

An either – or quality could be magnified during this mid-July period. Our emotions might trump our critical thinking, and we have to be wary that we don’t damage our relationships.

The 17th- 18th of July has two very different energy configurations, both related to how we perceive relationships. The 17th has Venus opposed Saturn, while Venus trines Neptune on the 18th. Discontent with present interactions and nursing grievances of past slights, we might put stress on our relationships, feeling that someone or the people in our circle just are not measuring up to our standards, a measure of standards that are looking more for flaws than positive attributes. Infatuations can be enticing with our tendency to see the proverbial ‘grass being greener’ somewhere, and with someone, other than where we are and with whom we are presently connected.

Mercury retrogrades back into Cancer on the 19th, energizing the Cardinal Water Sign with a Stellium as Mercury joins the Sun and Venus in Cancer. Our thoughts can shift to a feeling of being victims to the vagaries of doing life. Our thinking may not be clear since we might be considering things more from our emotions than clarity of thought. We are liable to see present circumstance as a half glass of water with our opinion being ‘half empty’ rather than ‘half full’.

Any sense of discomfort could have us looking at eliminations and getting rid of anything and everything that we see as imperfect in our lives. With Venus opposed Pluto and the Sun conjunct Mercury on the 21st of July, an attitude of lack and discontent can wreak damage to various aspects of our lives, and especially to our relationships. Playing victim has no winners, only losers, with a spiral into a ‘poor me’ solitary space.

Fortunately, the high drama of mid-July shifts as we come into the third week of July. The Sun enters Leo on the 21st- 22nd, and we enter a period of time through mid-August when we can more fully engage the promise of summertime with fun events, high spirits, and a more self-affirming attitude.

If we are looking for a good time for a summer vacation or a summer staycation, recommended times would be from the 22nd of July through the first half of August with the necessary heads-up of the Mercury retrograde until the 31st of July. Traveling during the latter part of July just needs to add on extra time with contingency plans in case of any screw-ups.

Although we have lost the Stellium in Cancer with the Sun entering Leo, the 24th of July has Mercury conjunct Venus in the Piscean decanate of Cancer. Our thoughts and feelings may revolve around family matters. Our compassion can be engaged, and we might find ourselves helping out someone who needs our comfort and support. This may be a time when we pitch in to help someone who is unable to help themselves. Time together with family and friends could provide a flood of memories, as we reflect on past summers.

But this end of July through mid-August has more of the summer fire energy — energizing our vitality and increasing our desire to spread our wings, engage in re-creational pursuits, and en joy ourselves.

With Mars trine Jupiter on the 25th of July, many of us might be considering getting out of Dodge — whether literally or figuratively. While some of the early summer may have been more emotional with a liability of feeling the weight of the world, the warmth of the summer sun during this latter part of July reenergizes us, likely to make us more optimistic, confident and enthusiastic about our plans.

The shift in energy can seem quite dramatic, augmented ever more by Venus exiting Cancer to enter Leo on the 27th of July and in so doing triggering a Leo Stellium as Venus joins the Sun and Mars in the Fixed Fire Sign. We are likely to be putting our best foot forward with a desire to enjoy social occasions, sports activities, and the warmth of the summer sun. If we felt some of the summertime blues during the end of June and early July, we can now truly feel the summertime fun in the sun.

Monday the 29th of July can prove to be a manic Monday thanks to the Sun square Uranus. Curveballs could be coming at us, and it would be wise for us to expect the unexpected at this time. If we have made commitments for this day, we might want to have contingency plans, for we have to be aware of possible disruptions. We also need to keep aware of our finances, since some of our activities may have greater costs than anticipated. This is not a day to be reckless but rather to take our time, be mindful and fully aware of the circumstances and conditions in which we find ourselves. Let’s also be aware that Mercury is about to end its three-week retrograde cycle, and things can get increasingly squirrely whenever Mercury changes direction.

The Leo New Moon on the 31st brings closure to the month of July and imprints the first two weeks of August. The conjunction of the Sun and Moon also conjuncts Venus, and all three are square to Uranus. Welcome to the Fun House!

You may remember as a child traveling carnivals or amusement parks that had a Fun House where the floor slanted at sharp angles and mirrors were lined to create the illusion of being in a maze. The fun was making one’s way from the entrance through the maze of mirrors, the slanting floors and the circuitous route to an eventual exit. If you recall having had such an experience, this New Moon configuration and the next two weeks could be reminiscent of our childhood experience in the Fun House.

Although this New Moon truly signals the height of summertime fun activities, much of the fun might be figuring our path through some of the twists and turns that the Uranus energy might throw our way. Flexibility and adaptability to our schedule, to our plans, and to our movements will be keys to successfully navigating this two-week period. But let’s keep in mind that it’s all for fun and maintain a bemused attitude at the various upsets we might encounter.

Shortly after the New Moon late on the 31st, early on August 1st, Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle and turns direct. As things can get increasingly convoluted when Mercury changes direction, whether from direct to retrograde or from retrograde to direct motion, this end of July into early August may have us feeling out-of-kilter. Not only do we have to contend with unexpected issues suddenly coming up, but our clarity of thought and actions may be negligent. It would be wise for us to slow things down to gauge what is really going on before proceeding. No knee-jerk reactions. Impulsive actions could come with a heavy cost.

As we come into August, we are certainly looking for good times with good friends. Our plans may be disrupted at times, but the more we can shift and turn as things occur, the more we can successfully navigate these times and enjoy the process. The universe has a great sense of humor, and it is important that we laugh along.

This New Moon conundrum can be further triggered on August 2nd as Venus squares Uranus. We might have gotten an indication of certain relationship matters going awry back with the New Moon, but this Friday could have us arm wrestling with someone or engaging a ‘game’ of tug-of-war. Now is not a time to take things too seriously. ‘If that’s all there is,’ as Peggy Lee would remind us, ‘then let’s keep dancing… and have a ball…’

Always important for us to look on the bright side, see life as good, keep dancing, and have a ball. And the second week of August up to the Aquarius Full Moon on the 15th provides moments of delight.

The 7th and 8th of August can be a primo period as the Sun trines Jupiter on the 7th, followed by Venus trine Jupiter on the 8th. We can be feeling highly confident, optimistic and enthusiastic both in regard to our prospects ahead and the person, or people, with whom we are doing the dance.

Travel plans could work nicely now, for we are looking to spread our wings, and there seem few storm clouds on our horizon. Our ‘feel good’ attitude may be contagious, and we might find our interactions with other people to be like a gathering of the Mutual Admiration Society. Everyone can be applauding one another, especially if we share the spotlight and not hog center stage for ourselves.

Whether we get away and out of town or stay around and enjoy the splendor of our summer, this second week of August could prove the highlight of our summer season.

As we come more into August, many of us may have the pulls of our normal routine, school starting, getting back on track. Before we get there, the first half of August and especially from the 6th through the 15th is prime for relaxation, re-creation and explorations.

Sunday the 11th of August ratchets up the energy but possibly in a rather convoluted manner. Jupiter turns from retrograde to direct motion, while Uranus turns from direct to retrograde motion. We may wonder whether we are coming or going. In addition, Mercury exits Cancer to re-enter Leo adding ever more emphasis to the Leo Stellium as Mercury joins Venus, the Sun and Mars in the Fixed Fire Sign. The blazing heat of summer, whether physically in the temperatures or figuratively in our re-creational activities, can be seen with the four planets in Leo and Jupiter turning direct in its own Sign of Sagittarius, the Mutable Fire Sign.

This mid-August period may allow us to have one major summer blowout, whether we party with friends and with family, travel out of town, or we engage our creative projects. No matter what we do, we are likely to be dramatic and putting ourselves out in front.

The 14th of August has the Sun conjunct Venus. This is also the day when Mercury comes out of its ‘shadow’ of the Mercury retrograde. We can be feeling good about ourselves, enjoying the company of other people, and especially those people who are willing to accede to our wishes. Although much of this time with the heavy Leo influence can be all about ‘ME’, let’s keep in mind that collaboration is often more effective than just singing our own praises.

The Aquarius Full Moon with the Aquarius Moon opposed the Sun, Venus and Mars can accentuate our relationships and our desire to have good times with good friends. We may be feeling the coming closure of summer, and we are likely to look for one last fling before we get back on track of our normal activities. This is a time for us to bask in the glow of our friendships and our special connection. We may feel the impending autumn season with schools either back in session or preparing for the start of their fall semester. We might want to go out on a high note before we get back on track of our regular routine.

While there can be quite a crescendo with the Aquarius Full Moon on the 15th, we have to be wary of the aftermath.

The 16th of August has Mercury square Uranus, one of my least favorite energies for travel, and especially air travel. People may be a little too obstreperous trying to prove their point by making promises they can’t keep or by excessive spending intended to impress. Our thoughts could be coming fast and furious, but the ability of properly filtering the information can be lacking. Communications can be off with statements being misinterpreted and misunderstood. This is a day to slow things down, maintain a mindful attitude and be aware for an unexpected situation liable to arise.

On the 18th of August, Mars exits Leo to enter Virgo. Although Mars is exiting Leo, we still have the Leo Stellium with the Sun, Mercury and Venus in the Fixed Fire Sign. This Leo Stellium only holds for a few more days, as the Mars exit of Leo into Virgo is followed by Venus entering Virgo on the 21st and the Sun entering Virgo on the 23rd.

The entrance of Mars into Virgo triggers by Sign a Grand Trine in the Earth Element with the two other Earth Signs being transited by Uranus in Taurus, and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.

Much of our energy may focus back on routine matters, dealing with the specifics of our daily lives. Increasingly, we could be feeling like we’re getting back on track with our usual schedule. There still can be moments of summer fun, but our tendency is to get more serious about our lives and what we wish to accomplish.

This period from the 18th of August into early October has the Earth Grand Trine by Sign and indicates a highly productive and effective time. The Earth Grand Trine provides the opportunity of manifestation, dealing with mundane affairs competently and successfully.

On the 21st of August, Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo, and Mercury trines Jupiter. The Leo Stellium that we may have been enjoying since the end of July ends. Whether back on the track or not, the energy increasingly leads us to dealing with our daily life. We may be a little more ‘no nonsense’ about our relationships with a tendency to wonder to ourselves ‘what have you done for me lately?’ We have to watch that we don’t become too critical of what we see as someone else’s flaws. We can be feeling good about ourselves, highly confident and wanting to expand our activities, but we are unlikely to brook any interference or any naysayers to our plans. This is a time when we may hold people in measure as to whether they are for us or not — no half measures for us. Either someone is with us, or we are likely to see them as against us. If someone does not comply by affirming our interests, we could find fault with them and put them down on the C list of the people in our life.

The 23rd of August has the Sun entering Virgo. As it does, the Sun generates the Virgo Stellium with the Sun joining Venus and Mars in the Mutable Earth Sign. We now have six planets in the Earth Signs and an Earth Grand Trine by Sign. We are looking to get more serious about our life intentions and willing to deal with the smallest details in order to successfully accomplish the big picture of our goals.

Whether we are back on track of our ordinary daily life or still on summer hiatus, much of our focus and attention turns to our daily life.

August 24th has Venus conjunct Mars. Our relationships can improve, but we might have a tendency to concentrate on those relationships that are willing to give us a hand with our responsibilities. We are looking for practical collaboration with someone assisting us in doing what we need to get done, just as we are likely to help other people with their projects.

The following week, ending the month of August and the 1st day of September, can be a most interesting time. The Virgo transiting planets trine Uranus with Venus trine Uranus on the 26th, followed by Mars trine Uranus on the 28th, then the Sun trine Uranus on the 29th the same day that Mercury exits Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo, the Virgo New Moon on the 30th, and culminating the week with Mercury trine Uranus on the 1st of September.

Can we say ‘magic is in the air’? Not only could magic be evident, but this week from August 26th through September 1st may be highly streamlined, a time when things happen easily and expeditiously, and a time not to be lost to complacency or discontent. This week might provide us with remarkable insights with the ease of things occurring and often with little effort on our part except by our intention. This is a week for us to keep our antennae up, work with peripheral vision and be open to receive surprising and exciting encounters.

The week begins on Monday the 26th with Venus trine Uranus. An unexpected contact might make us aware of new opportunities or different ways of our doing our usual tasks. We may see people we know in a different light. Everyone seems to be stretching and growing in accord with their own personal blossoming. And we have the privilege of being in the right place at the right time.

This week of August 26th through September 1st is filled with enlightening surprises, and reaffirms the fact that we are in a paradigm shift. This week is likely to be full of various mini-miracles. We just have to be open in order to receive.

We start the week with someone making us aware of options either in regard to new trajectories for us to pursue or in new characteristics of them that we have not seen before.

The mid-week period with the Mars trine Uranus allows us to streamline operations. Whether we engage new technologies and equipment to deal with our routine affairs or we utilize new methods to accomplish our daily tasks, we may find ourselves being far more productive with far less expenditure of energy.

The 29th of August has Mercury exiting Leo to enter Virgo, a Sign that Mercury rules. There are now four planets in the Mutable Earth Sign as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus and Mars in Virgo. Our critical thinking is enhanced and we may find that nothing escapes our attention. There might be truth in the saying that ‘the devil is in the detail’, but we are at a time when not one iota may escape our incisive attention.

The 29th also has the Sun trine Uranus. Although we might be at the start of the school year, many of us in our society see this time of year as the beginning of a new year. We are coming off our summer season of relaxation and fun activities and become more attentive to the regularity of our lives. As we look to get back on track, we might not be relegating our movements or our focus to ‘same old, same old’. On the contrary, we may wish to engage new trajectories, new ways of doing things and in the process increase our autonomy and our ‘free’ time.

The Virgo New Moon on the 30th of August is a powerful signature that impacts the next two weeks, up to the Pisces Full Moon on the 13th- 14th of September.

The Virgo New Moon accentuates the Earth Grand Trine with six planets in Virgo, two planets in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. This two-week period starting on the 30th gives us the energy to be highly productive, advance our goals and do so in the most expeditious and effective manner possible.
There can be an interesting blend of the innovative with the reliably practical.

We may have our nose to the grindstone, concentrating on the specifics of our daily life, but it would be wise for us to be open to unexpected situations greasing our wheels. This two-week timeframe can give us evidence of the paradigm shift as certain matters fall into place neatly and without too much effort on our part, and especially avoiding the effort of getting in our own way.

We come into September with insightful awareness and the ability to draw upon the support of a trusted confidante.

On the 1st of September, Mercury trines Uranus, and Venus trines Saturn. We may have one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments when everything seems so crystal clear. We can get validation of startling ideas from someone we trust and can rely upon. Our discussions could be exciting and illuminating, and we are able to present new, even radical, ideas in a pleasing and acceptable manner.

Although we can move forward with our projects easily and quickly, we do have to avoid overconfidence or the assumption that everything will work out the way we will it too. Such a belief in our mastery over circumstances is part of our old mindset, a belief that we solely control the outcome of our efforts. Nice concept, but one that never truly worked for us, and one that is far less likely to work for us in the present, much less in the future as the shift in paradigm becomes ever more evident.

The Grand Trine in the Earth Element can truly ease our success in our daily ventures. But the Virgo-transiting planets will also trigger a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Virgo-transiting planets square Jupiter and then oppose Neptune.

Overconfidence, indulgence and excess can wreak havoc on what would otherwise seem to be a highly effective and productive period.

These dueling energy configurations of the Earth Grand Trine and the Mutable Sign T-Square are accentuated during the first half of September, up to the Pisces Full Moon on the 13th- 14th of September. We may feel as though we are caroming between being extremely accomplished and being highly overoptimistic.

The 2nd of September is Labor Day in the US, often seen as the unofficial end to the summer season. As though the tolling of a bell, the sense of seriousness and of concentrating on our daily affairs becomes ever more paramount.

The 2nd has the Sun conjunct Mars, and Venus square Jupiter. Our energy may be unstoppable. If we maintain clarity and keep our focus on the specifics, then we could possibly move mountains. We certainly have the persistence and determination to do so, but we have to prevent ourselves from getting a swelled head with the assumption that everything will fall neatly into place. If we take our eyes off the ball, turn our attention from the particulars, then like the ages-old childhood singing game of ‘Ring a Ring o’ Roses’ the consequences might be: ‘We all fall down’.

The 2nd and 3rd of September accentuates the Virgo Stellium with the Sun conjunct Mars on the 2nd, and on the 3rd Mercury conjunct Mars and the Sun conjunct Mercury. We may want to get on with things, ready to bolt out the door, but it would be wise for us to devise our planned strategy prior to jumping into action. If we can rein in our desire to assertively move forward and instead take the time to figure a best practices approach, then once we have itinerary in hand and destination in mind our progress can be swift and unquestionable.

Where a problem could arise is insisting on too much information. While the Earth Grand Trine is engaged, the 2nd and 4th also has us encounter the Mutable Sign T-Square, as Venus squares Jupiter on the 2nd, and Venus opposes Neptune on the 4th. Our overconfidence and our liability of seeking confirmation from a questionable source may have us running around in circles, trying to do too much, glossing over details and forging ahead without knowing the specifics or where we intend to wind up.

This back and forth with the Earth Grand Trine and the Mutable Sign T-Square operates up until the Pisces Full Moon on the 13th- 14th.

This caroming can be seen like a roller coaster of days when the Earth Grand Trine is stronger, other days when the Mutable T-Square is stronger. And there are many days in this first half of September when both of these energy configurations are in play.

Since the issue will largely be a question of effectively competent or of overly ambitious, let’s be aware of those days in early September when they are in play:

September 2nd – both in play with the Sun conjunct Mars [Earth], Venus square Jupiter [Mutable]
September 3rd – Mercury conjunct Mars [Earth], Sun conjunct Mercury [Earth]

These various twists and turns can have us with our head in the clouds at times with our feet barely touching the ground, and other times when we can be solid and grounded in taking care of our goals with distractions but a slight annoyance.

This play between the Earth and Mutable can continue on into early October but with a lessening influence after the Full Moon on the 13th – 14th.

Up to the Full Moon, we have these shifting energy configurations. If we are not run by the energies but rather work with the energies, this two-week period in early September can be highly effective and profoundly productive. The key is our ability to adapt and shift as the energy configurations change and shift.

The best case scenario would be for us to consider all options and then devise a best practices approach to develop the more realistic alternatives.

The Pisces Full Moon on the 13th – 14thcalls for extreme caution with the Mars opposition Neptune in orb of the Full Moon. Acting from anxiety or from haste might create severe problems for us with a liability to accidents. Tuning out may be all well and good when on a summer hiatus but not as beneficial when we’re in the hurly-burly of our daily life.

The 14th of September has two major Sign changes as both Mercury and Venus exit Mercury-ruled Virgo to both enter Venus-ruled Libra. We lose the Stellium in Virgo and begin to sense the autumnal Libran energy when many of our matters revolve around balance and seeking equilibrium in a chaotic world.

While Mercury and Venus in Virgo trined the Capricorn-transiting planets of Saturn and Pluto, their entry into Libra will foretell squares to the Capricorn-transiting planets. The end of Summer and more so during the autumn, we may experience times when we encounter blocks, impediments and obstacles to our finely-conceived plans.

The 18th of September has Saturn ending its four and a half month retrograde cycle, a Saturn retrograde cycle that has gone on since the end of April through the rest of the Spring season and through virtually all of our summer season. Whenever Saturn is retrograde, things tend to take longer to accomplish and to complete and even then the completion may be less on firm ground than on shaky ground. With Saturn direct we have a greater ability to establish solid footing and a sounder template from which to develop our goals and to realize our ambitions.

Even if we have gotten back on track earlier this month or even during August, the Saturn direct smoothes out some of the wrinkles and allows us to move forward with fewer hiccups.

This sense of streamlined operations could be reinforced on the 19th of September as Mars trines Pluto. This is one of those times when we can be expeditious and productive. Our determination and persistence may be unmatched, and we might accomplish more than at other times. Nose to grindstone with focused intent is likely to have us virtually moving mountains. There may be no stopping us in our forward movement, and we are unlikely to brook any interference, much less hesitate in considering other people’s critiques. We know what we want to do, and we may well put all our energy in our prioritized activity.

The weekend of the 21st – 22nd of September closes out the summer season and does so with Jupiter square Neptune on the 21st, and Mercury square Saturn on the 22nd.

One of the key elements in regard to astrology is the matter of timing. Similar to all the cycles in nature and in our lives, there are times when things go swiftly and easily, other times when things are laborious and thwarting.

The 18th – 19th of September may have us highly effective and productive. Our accomplishments on those days might boggle the mind, even surprising us at how much we have achieved in a relatively short period of time.

With the concept of from the sublime to the ridiculous, our greased wheels on the 18th – 19th degenerate over the weekend to believing that we have a golden touch, whereby whatever we engage will also slide easily and effectively to a successful conclusion. Not so much.

We end the summer season attempting to expand beyond our resources and our capabilities. The sense of greased wheels we had earlier now may engage squealing brakes and encounter various blockages.

Illusions can be strong on the 18th with the Jupiter square Neptune. And the 19th has the first of the Libra-transiting planets squaring the Capricorn-transiting planets as Mercury squares Saturn.

The rhythmic ebb and flow of life’s cycle can see the flow of the 18th – 19th, reinforced by wildly hopeful assumptions on the 21st, turn into an ebb on the 22nd with Mercury square Saturn and the liability of not merely an ebb but a proverbial body slam.

We end the summer season and enter autumn on the 23rd of September at the Autumnal Equinox and the Sun’s entry into Libra.

This summer season can be a season of fun high jinks followed later in the season by a most productive time of introducing alterations and developing a highly effective approach to realizing our ambitions.

Summer 2019… fun in the summer and refreshed practical approach…
