Feng Shui Example

We wish to thank Holland Franklin for allowing us to share an example of a Compass Style Feng Shui reading that she did over the internet, by email and phone conversations with the owners of this house. There are certain questions that need to be answered in order for a professional Feng Shui Consultant to conduct an analysis of any particular dwelling, business location or even possible building site.

You may want to invest in one of the disposable panaromic cameras that are on the market in order to take some of the outside shots of the place you wish to have the consultation compiled for.

Although you do not have to be as precise as the owners of this house were, you do need to have a close idea as to the layout of your location. Accurate compass measurements and pictures showing close buildings/water/power lines/etc. to the structure or land are a must.

As this house is changed for better Feng Shui, we will be adding information to this page.

When we asked the owners why they wanted to have Feng Shui for their home, we were told that they had bought the house 3 years ago and had learned about the Form Style of Feng Shui and had incorporated it into some of thier lifestyle. After finding out about Compass Style Feng Shui they solicited the help of a certified Feng Shui Consultant to help them improve their business and to allow them a peaceful living space and loving environment.

Below you will find what they sent to the consultant and some areas which could be improved upon from their consultation.

Exterior:

Rocks in front, as part of the landscaping. Preferably in the middle front area.  In the case of this house, it helps increase health.  They are proportional to the size of the house and more upright, than flat, to simulate the presence of a mountain.

Path to front door should be direct, but not in an absolutely straight line (this can produce feelings of assault or attack).  Path curving around trees in front can help bring in energy that trees may be partly obstructing.

Interior:

Five element remedies were placed in several of the areas of the Ba Gua grid for the house to balance the combination of fixed and annual energies in the house.They all represented natural elements that change the magnetic field of the house.

Hanging man-made spherical crystals at top and bottom of stairs to diffuse energy of incoming chi to nourish entire house.  Bottom of stairs faced front door, and crystals help hold energy in the home rather than having it roll back out the door.

Lighting up into low side of ceilings in office and bedrooms.  Uplifting influence, helps inspiration and gives more freedom to expand.

Don't use upstairs toilet as often & be sure to keep lid down.  It's position is in a wealth promoting area & this is to help profits not "go down the drain".

Position mirrors in office to be able to see who's coming in office, as it is difficult to reposition desks so that backs are not to the room entrance.

Mirrors inside garage wall where the car faces as it pulls up the driveway.  If garage isn't used, these can be on outside of garage door.

Clean out garage.  It's in an area that involves health maintenance, and health is easier when clutter is gone and nourishing energy circulates freely.

Use of left rear office in addition to the main office helps promote wealth as it in a wealth area for the house and also for the residents.

Feng Shui has an immediate effect of transforming the energy of a place, individual or building as the changes are made. All of the changes that are made by a Compass Feng Shui Consultant are normally inexpensive operations to perform. An example of this would be the trees that stand directly in front of the door of this particular home. The owners did not want to part with the trees (they blocked the CHI from having a clear path into the front of the house) so instead the owners placed a walkway of pebbles and round stones with a small fountain coming around the edge of the trees allowing a more graceful entrance into the home. The total cost to do this was (according to them) less than $100 and some digging on a Saturday afternoon. According to the owners, many things are already happening to their home and to their personal life just in the minor changes that they have already made. As new and exciting things continue to happen, we will also update with those results.

Changes have been made gradually to the house. Not all changes have occurred to date. As they do, the owners will share their experiences.

First, the front entrance was altered to make a softer, more direct entrance. Three large lava rocks symbolizing mountains were placed in line between the trees and the front doors. A small fountain was placed in front of the rocks. It was more appealing to the eye, but the cars in the driveway blocked the path. The flow of chi was enhanced dramatically when the garage was cleaned up and organized and one car was moved in. The placement of mirrors in or on garage doors has not yet been done.

It's a good idea to pay attention to the directions given by the feng shui consultant. Instead of man-made crystals, natural crystals were used and confused the chi. They were also inappropriately placed. This correction has just been made and it is too soon to tell what results will be. The owners are looking forward to holding prosperity in their house.

Although the mirrors in the office helped a great deal, they were'nt enough for the work habits of the owners. The lights were moved, office furniture was moved and plants were added two weeks ago. Now both desks face the entrance. Also, the wealth room upstairs was altered to house a new company which has already been experiencing success.

The office feels more professional and looks more organized. Time will tell the story, but it's already feeling like a good move for the owners.

For health purposes, the master bedroom moved back downstairs and the room over the garage became the healing/meeting/guest room. Only one meeting was held so far, but the participants really had some good ideas. There was much more progress made in comparison with the first meeting held downstairs.

The owners wanted to make a separation of business and living space. This has been accomplished by moving the bedroom downstairs. Now more of the house is utilized.

It was recommended to put trees or bushes out back to cut off a wind tunnel. The owners planted beautiful flowering tall myrtle bushes to remedy this. The chi and the beauty of the property instantly improved.

Many of the suggestions could have been done in several ways. It's nice that you get to add your personal touch to Feng Shui. The owners will be sharing as experiences become more clear. The changes have definitely made a difference as far as how the house looks and feels to the owners. "Dead Trees Must Go"

Much of Feng Shui is common sense. Another factor to consider is that elements that are in the wrong place will shift to a balanced state in nature. One of the trees in front started dying from the top down. The tree began to die within a month's time of the consultation. The pathway the owners made around the trees was evidently insufficient to remedy the flow of chi to the front door. The tree completely died and was chopped down a few months after the consultation took place.

Then the other tree began to die. There was still one live branch on the tree, but it was becoming an eyesore for the owners. They discussed taking the top (dead part) of the tree down with neighbors. This tree was going to take some real manpower just to take the top part out. It was tall and heavy and no matter which way it fell would cause damage to other property - either the owners' house or the neighbor's - because there were two trees closer to the street in the way of a clean fall. However, a severe wind and downpour made the decision easy! A clap of thunder, several streaks of lightning and a loud BOOM was all it took. The tree cracked below the branch that still showed signs of life. It fell right on the house! It was totally amazing where the tree fell! It fell between the front porch roof and the dormer window.
